Hee Jin Chang
Hee Jin Chang is an associate attorney with Slate & Associates, Attorneys
at Law. Prior to becoming an associate attorney, Hee Jin worked as a law
clerk at Slate & Associates. Hee Jin was also a student attorney at
the University of Houston Law Center Family and Immigration Law Clinic
where she handled cases involving child custody, domestic violence, divorce,
and Texas Department of Family Protective Services (formerly known as
CPS). During law school, Hee Jin clerked at Neumann and Rodriguez, a family
law firm. Hee Jin also worked at the Harris County District Attorney’s
office Child Abuse Division as an intern, where she worked extensively
with District Attorneys, Forensic Interviewers, Texas Department of Family
Protective Services as well as local and state law enforcement agencies
to advocate for children and families. Hee Jin has dedicated her legal
career to advocating for children and families, helping them navigate
through the legal system.
Hee Jin graduated from the University of Houston Law Center where she served
as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Consumer and Commercial Law.
During her legal studies at UHLC, Hee Jin excelled in family law, trial
advocacy, evidence, and civil procedure. Before attending law school,
Hee Jin received her Masters in International and Domestic Policy Development
from Georgetown University. She is also a proud University of Texas at
Austin alumnus, where she was a six-time All-American swimmer, and a two-time
Olympic swimmer representing South Korea.
